Welcome to McCorkle Furniture! Since 1957 we have been servicing the northern Illinois territory with great customer service, quality affordable furniture and flooring, and interior decorating services. We take pride in purchasing and offering American Made products for the beauty, quality and affordability our customers have come to enjoy.
William and Margie McCorkle purchased the furniture business in downtown Durand from Floy Chapin in 1957 and began McCorkle Furniture. For the first few years, a person could buy appliances, televisions and small electronics, along with inexpensive gifts and even patio furniture during the summer months.
In the 1990’s son Brian purchased the business from his parents. He took care to manage or hire managers that have helped to grow the furniture store, continuing the traditions his parents had started.
In 2008 Dennis, another son, re-joined the family business as the store's manager. While upholding the values of the past, he has also brought the business into the 21st century by adding new lines, a website and is now bringing in a blog to help customers find exactly what they are looking for.
McCorkle Furniture is truly a family operated business, with honest values, current furniture selections, and customer service that the box stores just cannot provide! We continue many of our past traditions; from playing Christmas music in the town square at Christmas time to being a part of the Durand Businessman's Association to help the community grow. But above all, our most important task is building relationships that last for generations, taking care of our customers first!
Interior decorating was added to the store during the late 1960's and today a free interior decorating consultation is still available to help you design your home. Furniture sales include brands like Flexsteel, England, Charles Schneider, Chromcraft, Restonic Mattress, Ludwig Cabinets, AA Laun among others and many styles are represented on the sales floor. We can always custom order to your tastes.
The flooring center offers brands such as Beaulieu (Bliss Carpets), Mohawk (Smartstrand), and are made of Dupont Sarona strands that are Eco friendly. affordably priced and boast a 25 year warranty. They will help your home look fresh longer. We also offer a wide variety of tile and hardwood flooring. Tile from Coliseum, and Marazzi are excellent choices and offer a large variety of choices in color and size. The hardwood brands we offer are Somerset, Great Northern and our Amish brand Homerwood. A nice selection of wood and styles to help you beautify your home.
